Everything you need to know about how Truvade works.

You have 7 days after completion to raise any issues. If your dispute is upheld, the worker must return and fix the problem at no additional cost to you. If they refuse, our team mediates and can return funds from escrow.

Yes. We use FCA-regulated escrow partners who hold your funds in segregated accounts completely separate from any operating funds. Your money cannot be accessed by the tradesperson or Truvade until you approve the work.

Yes — for Tier 2 escrow jobs over £500, you can split payments using Klarna. The full amount still goes into escrow before work begins, and Klarna manages your instalment payments separately. The tradesperson only receives payment after you approve the work.

Because they get paid. Escrow means payment is secured before they start — no more chasing invoices or clients who refuse to pay after jobs are done. They also get 10–15% off materials, a tax dashboard, and a professional verified profile that generates leads.

Tier 1 is a directory — tradespeople pay an annual listing fee and homeowners can find and hire them directly, paying however they prefer. No payment protection. Tier 2 adds full escrow, photo/video documentation, AI quality checking, and Klarna — recommended for jobs over £500.

Tier 2 escrow jobs carry a 3–5% platform fee deducted automatically from the escrow balance at the point of release. On a £1,000 job that's £30–50. There's no fee to homeowners for finding and contacting tradespeople on Tier 1.
